Pretty cool. I have many memories in the small towns in SE Iowa.

I actually prefer the rural photos much more than the ones featuring Main Street of a lot of those small towns. Many of those small towns just look way past their prime and depressing.

Oh neat, I just started following that guy's tumblr not too long ago. Sometimes he just posts photos and sometimes there's some backstory, but either way it's worth seeing.

I just wish he would post some kind of map information along with the pics, though. It would be nice to see where exactly some of these towns are, particularly the tiny ones none of the rest of us have ever heard of.

A map would be a good idea, although I can tell you that everything he's posted so far is the southeast corner of the state. Most of the buildings are familiar to me as I'm fascinated with small towns and will often travel a few miles out of my way just to drive through a little town I've never been to before.

And many of them are places I visit on a regular basis anyway. I shop at the Dutchman's store in Cantril pretty much every week, and every new suit I've ever owned has come from Johnson Schmidt in Keokuk.

I'd seen that he's been slowly branching out from around Keokuk. I've enjoyed seeing him hit up some of the smaller places in Keokuk County like What Cheer, South English, etc. Growing up I'd always hear my grandma talking about people from around there, since a lot of our family is from the area, but I'd never actually been there myself, so it's been neat to see it.
