Can someone please tell me any towns the size of Carroll Ia or a little bigger within 26 miles from Carroll. I have tried looking online but not really finding anything. Thanks

Dennison is just a little smaller but has about the same services as Carroll if I remember correctly, it's just over 26 miles away.

Otherwise the western side of Iowa is mostly little towns of a couple thousand or less until you get over to Sioux City or Council Bluffs.

Duster1979 is correct in his observations above.
As the crow flies in mileage, the closest town that is slightly larger than Carroll is Boone which is 2 counties to the east on U.S. 30. Boone is not that much larger though with a population of 12,500 so there is no real difference between it & Carroll which is at exactly 10,000.
Storm Lake may be closer to Carroll in distance but it is almost exactly the same size as Carroll & not really "larger".
As Duster1979 noted, western Iowa is relatively underpopulated as compared to some areas of eastern & central Iowa.
