I was wondering what the word on the street in Iowa is. Does it seem like that most people you talk to are leaning towards Trump?

I kinda wonder if there's not a lot of people who will vote for Trump but deny it in public because they think othrr people might think they are racist for voting for Trump.

As far as I'm concerned, Trump is the only way to go. He totally dominates and intimidates his competitors making them look totally weak. Jeb Bush has an actual look of fear on his face when Trump is in the room. I thought that really stood out in last Thursdays debate when Trump wasn't there. Jeb looked relaxed and confident in a way I had not seen before. A complete 180 from the expression on his face when Trump is in the room.

I'd feel much safer and a lot better knowing it's Trump dealing with Pootin, The Iranians, and that little fella from North Korea than Cruz, Rubio, Christie, Jeb, and any of those other candidates.

Those Trump supporters at his campaign events seem like they can be a rowdy intimidating bunch, kinda like Trump's own self. Makes me wonder if at the Iowa caucuses the Trump supporters won't try to intimidate and even bully the other candidates supporters into voting for Trump, kinda like the way Trump bullies Jeb.

This Republican race just keeps getting better and better each day. I've never seen anything like it. Trump totally dominates everybody and everything, including the media. Politics has become entertainment. Where are we heading, as a nation?

Trump will send your kids to die in WWIII that he creates. All the while his kids sip champagne on yachts in the Caribbean...

Haven't heard that, but isn't Bloomberg planning to run in that case?

Thank you, I mostly agree. It seems Bernie Sanders offers much of what the 99% want, but Democrats have been primarily for the corporations & other bribers, so will they allow him to be the candidate or will he run as an independent? He wants to legalize life-saving cannabis. He's against unlimited wars. He cares about poor & middle class & wants wealthy to pay more taxes to fund free college & free medical.

Rand Paul is for medical marijuana & not for unlimited war, against unlimited spying, so 3 strikes against him for party platform variation. So many Republicans like to talk about who they hate. Now we have Donald Trump mocking the other candidates & the party, by claiming he would be the most hateful. Some don't get his subtle sarcasm. Some can't tell when he's serious or not, & don't know if he would change the party, if that's possible. Will Rep. leaders deny him the nomination if he stays at top of polls? Would Trump run as an independent candidate? Or is he just amusing us & himself?

I repeatedly hear we only have 2 parties, but there were over 50 parties that had a presidential candidate in 2012. The Libertarian Party is for the 100% equally, which could be what we need to avoid Civil War II.
The Libertarian Party is the 3rd largest & fastest growing party. Gary Johnson will likely be the nominee, IMO. Great guy, was 2 term guv of NM. There is some organization, I forget name, that has called for opening the debates to include Libertarian Party & Green Party, Dr Jill Stein likely nominee (4th biggest).

Bernie Sanders is a sham. If he is so against the billionaires on Wall Street then why did he vote against the audit the fed bill? The reason is because he needs the printing presses to be willing o print the trillions needed for his free stuff. Seems to me he likes welfare more than he dislikes the income gap.

Oh, and we've fought some wars against socialism in the past...

One more day! In the end, it is all about turnout in Iowa.

Yep! And it's a nice sunny day in the upper 40s. There have been at least two volunteers trying to get permission to put candidate yard signs on our properties. I told the one that I'd be happy to put up "Hillary for Prison 2016" but she didn't get the joke.

To answer an earlier question, I think a lot of people will turn out for Trump, even if they say they haven't made up their minds. Trump has a big mouth. Lots of people don't like that, but after Cruz sent out those voter report cards with real names and F's, he's certainly lost support in my neighborhood.

I think the weather tomorrow will be fine, and there will be a record turnout at the caucuses. People I know who don't normally vote are planning on going.

How many of you in Iowa who do not live in Des Moines think there is a skewed perception of how the voting will go in the state because the media is all camped out in Des Moines and getting their opinions from people who live in Des Moines?
