Trump brought lots of issues to the forefront and is successfully beating down the political correctness morons that have permeated this country over the last 10 years. This was long overdue.

HOWEVER, his constant act, and I mean act, of personally attacking people, flip flopping on issues, and trying to dictate this entire election has gotten old. We already have an idiot in the White House who won't listen to any advice from knowledgeable authorities on issues because he thinks he knows it all. We DON'T need another "leader" with the same attitude who just happens to be from the other political party.

I believe our country is in serious trouble and we need someone with a consistent, honest (so much for Hillary), serious approach to everything. We've had enough business as usual in Washington (so much for Bush).

I like Dr. Carson, but I'm afraid he's not going to be a viable candidate half way through the primary process. Dr. Carson is smart enough to not think that he knows all the intricate details of whatever the problem may be. He would surround himself with very bright experts that aren't bought and paid for by special interests and will inform him of the pros and cons of issues. I believe he would have the ability to easily render a quick decision on whatever the matter is. I don't see him as a political hack which is the negative connotation that I get from Rubio. Rubio's a pure politician and I see a lot of that in Christie as well.

My 2nd choice is Cruz. Very intelligent, decisive, and principled. The fact that he's not "loved" in Congress to me is a plus.

You're all wrong. We don't need someone who'll act fast, we don't need someone who will keep us safe. We need someone who will first and foremost follow the constitution. Using that as a basis, the only, and I mean ONLY, viable candidate is Rand Paul. Unfortunately the powers that be won't let that happen.

Ted Cruz was born in Canada and was a dual citizen until a few years ago. While I understand his mom was a U.S. citizen which in turn makes him a citizen. However I have to question his loyalty, and it seems most haven't...

So what to do?

There's Trump and his large mouth. One plus: he isn't owned by anyone.

Cruz is owned by Goldman Sachs, and he was all for bringing in foreign workers. No thanks.

Rubio is owned by other banksters and likes the Patriot Act a little too much. Ick.

The rest aren't viable at this point, no matter how many JEB! ads they show during the dinner hour.

And then there's Clinton, and it's a matter of time before her crimes and ill health catch up with her, so that leaves Sanders.

Sanders . . . really? Socialism hasn't worked in any other country. He gets the attention from the youngsters that he does because we no longer teach economics and history at a meaningful level.

Word I've been hearing is that Biden will get pushed into the ring when Clinton exits.

Oh, joy! (NOT)

What a troupe of clowns! And this is the best we can do? Ugh. I know politics is a nasty business, but we need a few dozen educated realists to step up and help get the US back on track.

Add "pragmatists" to your "..we need..." sentence in the last paragraph & it would be perfect in my view!

The candidates will be Jeb and Hillary, if you haven't figured it out yet you never will. Here's how it will go down. Candidates will start dropping out of he race. They will tell their supporters they have to support the "most electable candidate" and throw their support behind him. This stuff has been decided two years ago. Bush has the money to outlast most everybody (not Trump but I still think he's a pawn on the electoral chessboard). That's how it will go down, I've seen this rodeo enough to know how it works. The establishment candidate always wins, always.

What "we" need to do is stop believing government is the answer to ANYTHING. Once the general populace gets over their religious like belief in government things may get better. Like Nietzsche said government is the coldest of the cold dark monsters...

Once again you have a short memory. Polling means nothing at this point. History has proven itself, the establishment candidate always wins. The establishment propped him up from the get go. He has the financial backing that others don't. Other candidates will throw their support behind him once they start dropping, they say this election is the most important of our lifetime, gotta support the most electable, yada yada yada. Same thing every four years.

Either way we're screwed. Hillary or Jeb, tweedle dee and tweedle dumb.

Iowa is cool...

I don't agree Jeb will be the eventual nominee because it has been proven that the "establishment track" to R nomination is not clearly trending his way. IMO, Rubio has a better chance.

If Rubio gets it, R's have a chance. If Jeb gets it, Hillary is Prez. Grassroots and base stayed home for McCain and Romney, they are not coming out for another Bush.

If "outsider" get's R nomination (only Trump and Cruz have realistic chance at this point IMO),

Trump can't win general election as his negatives are too high. Hillary is Prez.

Cruz can win but has more work to do (in the mold of Reagan in 1980) to win.

That's how I"m seeing it from the ground here in Iowa.
(see how I tied it back to Iowa)
