No pics to post today but I LOVE this topic.....what a good reminder of all of the beauty in our state. Especially on this wintery, snowy, icky day! Now I can remember WHY I live here.

I spent a lot of time at that very lagoon as a kid, and unless I'm crazy, that's Middle Park, not Vander Veer Park... or am I crazy???

If those are my only two choices, apparently you're crazy, because that's most definitely Vander Veer. I live a few blocks away, and took the photo myself. About a decade ago, the city renovated the Vander Veer lagoon, dredging it, and installing the sidewalk you see there, so maybe that's what's confusing you.

New federal courthouse under construction in Cedar Rapids. It'll be 8 stories and two blocks long when completed, slightly taller than the 8 story Great America Building nearby.

I've been surfing through city-data and the web and have viewed just about all of the Iowa City pictures I think that are publiclized online; so if anyone have any Iowa City pictures ( like the downtown area and University of Iowa campus) would you share them? Thanks

I could find some time to take some new ones maybe next weekend. You'll have to keep in mind that winter is beautiful and spring is even more beautiful, but the period between the two when the snow melts uncovers muddy grass, and the remaining snow darkens with mud, and all the sand that gets thrown on the streets gets wet from running snow-water and later dries up. It's not exactly pleasing to the eye, but thankfully it gets cleaned up and leafs spring from the trees and days grow longer... I can't wait! I'll put something together for you when I get the time.
