I have lived in 3 states and no other state has better parks than Iowa. In Cedar Rapids there are 2. Ellis Park and Bever Park. I spent so much of my childhood time at Ellis Park. There was always tons of people there. I don't know if it is as popular as it was in the 1970's or not. Bever Park was pretty cool too. I remember going to watch the bike races there. And the mini zoo they had there was pretty cool too. I wonder if they still have the animals there? Does anyone else have any good parks were you live in Iowa?

Default Parks

There are tons of great parks in Iowa. I worked with the iDNR as a summer intern. I traveled the state looking at alot of the state parks and facilities doing some environmental analysis. Redrocks near Des Moines and Mines of Spain in Dubuque, Ia. Are great!

If I can I would like to make a suggestion, geocaching is a great way to discover places one person may not know exists. All you need is a GPS unit and the website Geocaching - The Official Global GPS Cache Hunt Site Try it out its one of my favorite pass-times.
