Hi, will be meeting up with my old college roommate for a game in Iowa a City. We're flying into Moline as flight times worked better for both of us than the Cedar Rapids options. Anyways, we get in around dinner time, so I thought we'd grab dinner in the Quad Cities before heading to Iowa City. I looked at Yelp, but it's a little harder to figure out than most metros since there are 4 cities. He lives in a big East Coast city, and I'm in a big West Coast one, so we already both have tons of great ethnic food options where we live. I was thinking it'd be good to try some kind of farm to table kind of place or traditional Midwestern food that would be harder to get where we live. Any recommendations?

I haven't been there myself, but Barley and Rye sounds like it would fit the bill. I've heard good things. Home | Barley and Rye Bistro

Google 'quad city style pizza'.

There's several places that serve it with Harris pizza being the most well known, and maybe the originator.

Sorry, delayed answer. As it turned out, due to flight delays that caused a missed connection, I ended up getting re-routed to Cedar Rapids as there were no more flights that day to Quad Cities.

I still flew out of MLI to go home and tried lunch at Bent River Brewing in Moline before my flight. I wanted to try their Pork Tenderloin Sandwich that I saw on the menu posted by the door, but after they brought us our beers, they told us that all they had available was a buffet brunch which had a couple of OK dishes (Sausage and Onions, decent bacon), but also had what seemed to be heated up frozen Chicken Fingers and Eggo Waffles. Overall, I wouldn't recommend eating there (at least for the brunch buffet). The beer was another story, and I liked their Blonde Ale and my buddy enjoyed whatever beer he got (can't remember what he ordered). I had a great time in Iowa, the people were all really nice.

In retrospect maybe I should have posted to the IL forum, but probably enough Iowans cross the bridge to get some decent input. Quad Cities is a unique metro since it splits states.
