UPDATE: City Council approves demolition to make way for roundabout

I'm thinking the city is not going to stop until every intersection in town is a roundabout! So glad I don't live there anymore.

I'll be glad when that trend is over and they rip them out. I give them about another 3 more years out here. Everyone I know hates them.

The roundabout craze is driven by insurance companies..... Since the cars are slowed down considerably through the roundabout, any accidents have less serious injuries and lower property damage. However, there is evidence that the number of accidents are increased, especially right after a new roundabout is opened. So how much are they saving?

Seems to me that if the insurance companies want roundabouts THEY should have to pay for them! Instead, the public (who in large numbers do NOT want them) are forced to pay for them. Once again, govt of the people, by the people, for the people is out the window.

I wondered about that. I think they snuck the one in near the Johnston Walmart. It's an awful one that everyone whines about, not clearly marked, either.

This is another Eurotrash green fad that should've stayed in Europe. If an intersection needs a traffic light, put one in, not a friggin' roundabout.
