I don't get the 'showing our colors' design. If it's supposed to be based off the state flag, then it has the orientation all wrong.

I completely agree that Facebook and Twitter have become a vehicle for people without courage to hide behind a keyboard and act like they have courage by viciously attacking others. However, I got the sense that this graphics artist was upset not because of individual, vicious attacks, but rather the shear magnitude of the opposition to these designs. That she is unable to accept criticism is not (or at least should not be) the fault of society. We are all waaaaay too sensitive now days!

Did you READ some of the horrible nasty-grams people actually wrote to that woman over her designs??? this was not "dissenting" people expressing their opinion by saying "I don't like that one" it was a slew of cursing, ranting trash and vicious personal attacks, wow, I was totally floored when I read some of them, all over a freaking license plate that's why I posted this article above!

The same jerks posted the crap all over her facebook page too I remember seeing, no it went WAY beyond people expressing their opinions on the design and right into stalking and attacking her on her facebook page.

No, I did not read any of the nasty-grams. I did not have access to them - No way of knowing how or where to read them, since the article you linked to did not have any of that information. If what you are describing is accurate, then I would certainly agree with you that there is absolutely no call for that.

My point referred to a general attitude in our society of not being able to accept criticism. I once worked with a woman who was asked to write a technical report for me. After reviewing the document, I wrote her an email and said she did a great job but there were 3 technical inaccuracies in the document that I corrected and thanked her for her help. It was no more savage or brutal than that. The next thing I know, I'm in a conference with her boss, my boss, and HR because I made her cry!
