Does anyone know if the Fall colors have started showing in the Loess Hills between Sioux City and Council Bluffs? TIA!

They have, somewhat. I drive in that area often on I-29 with my job. There should be even more Fall colors in 2-3 weeks as the nights get colder, and daylight becoming shorter.

I have a niece who lives in the Loess Hills, so I texted her and asked. Her reply:

"Some of the trees are starting to lose their leaves. There's some color showing other than green and brown; we've had a very wet year in our area so it's taking its time."

Don't know how much that helps. I saw a photo she posted nearly 2 weeks ago that showed one tree with a few golden leaves but everything else green. My guess is peak will be a couple weeks away, but don't take my word for it.

Not much color yet, a little yellow starting to show up. It has been very warm. Needs to cool down some.
