It is my understanding that even though the police know this pair of cyclists were 'speeding' to the point of being out of control, and left the scene of this fatal collision........no charges have been filed and no names of the cyclists have been released.
Anyone know any additional information regarding this situation?

The original story in the QC Times is vague in terms of how the accident happened. Regardless the Davenport police need to investigate this tragic accident to not only find out how this happened but develop guidelines, policies, rules, whatever to prevent this from happening again. I bike on this path often and it is filled with families and their children along with rollerbladers, runners, people walking their dogs, and of course bicyclists. Everyone has a right to use the path but bicyclists especially need to be aware of what is going on as many cycle very fast with some riding in small groups.

It is hard to believe that no one called the police at the scene of a serious accident. I am shocked that no one took witness statements or tried to find out the names of the cyclists that were involved in this fatal accident.

Are there any updates? The sooner that the police start looking for witnesses the easier it will be to solve this case.

Please post any new information. Thank you.
