It was the perfect storm.

King was doing his usual rant, but people are super-sensitive right now, so he's in the dog house and unlikely to make it out anytime soon because getting kicked off the agriculture committee upset a number of folks in his base, at least from what I'm hearing.

He's also being asked by party elders to step down, but I doubt he'll do that.

It's a distinct possibility. King is too stubborn and prideful to back down quietly.


Although both the Repubs and Dems alike have turned on him, King still does have a major Trump card (pun intended). The White House did publicly admonish him, but that statement came from the press secretary, and not Trump himself. Any negative remarks regarding King fall on deaf ears when brought to the President's attention.
