Will be in Indianola next Tuesday afternoon for a Wednesday interview/walk-around!!! Pretty excited about it, would have liked my wife to come along, but she does not have the time-off from work. I should have a day or two to "explore", probably won't take long to look around. Mainly want to look at some land/homes in the country if everything works out.

Too bad it isn't this weekend! Today is 55 and sunny, a truly banner day. It should be in the 30s.

Well I was offered and accepted the job in Indianola. My wife and I have been looking at acreages but they are slim picking around Indianola, at least for what we want. We did find some farther south near Truro but I don't think I want to do a 30ish minute drive one way at this point. Talking to our realtor it's a little more difficult finding acreages in the spring, which to me is understandable because everything is brown or snow covered, kind of hard for curb appeal. We have started looking now in town, which is not what we want, but at this point we want our kids to be in the same school until they graduate high school, which is four years from now, once they graduate we can possibly find the perfect place, if that's even possible. We are looking at the Deer Run/Deer Creek area. What are the average monthly utilities for the Indianola area? We have lived on base the last three years so we have not paid utilities in that amount of time. Thanks for the help.

Commuting from Truro wouldn't be bad traffic wise. You'd be getting off the interstate well before you hit the Des Moines traffic snarl and Hwy. 92 going INTO Indianola I would think wouldn't be too congested during rush hour. I know that the business manager at the school (Interstate 35 School Dist.) does the opposite commute from Indianola every day.

You might want to check out the Martensdale area. One of my son's best friends recently moved there from Des Moines and loves it. He has 3 or 4 kids in the Martensdale-St. Marys School there. It's a short commute to Indianola totally avoiding Des Moines rush hour snarl.
