Company may be relocating hubby. We are in late 30's with elementary aged kids. So we need good schools. Right now we live in a suburb of a large city and that has been just fine. We live near good schools, a mall, shopping centers, several grocery stores, parks, coffee places, kid-sized entertainment. We'd like a newer home not older than 5 years or a new build, in a master planned community with community ammenities and an elementary would be ideal. I stay home with the kiddos right now but may look into returning to work in an IT related area.

Thanks for your advice.....

Oops, works from home so that is not really an issue. He may need to travel some.

If you are content with what you have right now - Metro Des Moines is going to be the closest thing and has all that you are looking for.

Look at the suburban areas of - Waukee, West Des Moines, Urbandale, Johnston, and Ankeny.
