I was just browsing around looking at events in Oskaloosa and I noticed they are having trick or treating on October 30th the day before Halloween. Does anyone know why?

Lot's of towns do trick-r-treating on the weekend before the 31st. I think it mostly has to do with not keeping people up late before work or school.

I remember growing up in Iowa, we always trick or treated on the 30th, not the 31st. I distinctly remember that. Never seen it anywhere else.

They are having it on Thursday instead of Friday so that people don't have to miss the football game. I'd personally prefer to have it on Friday so that the kids don't have to get up and go to school the next day, but they didn't ask me
