As far as schools, we have 2 girls who have been in the Ames school system their whole school career. Our oldest graduated this last year and our younger is at the middle school (8). Both Middle and High schools are excellent and full of activities to keep them involved. For elementary schools, I would recommend Fellows.

Living near Fellows and the HS, you can catch a bike path to ISU with minimal commute time. Good Luck!
Thanks RNhottie for the encouraging news. I will keep Fellows in mind for my daughter. I have another question since you have lived in Ames for a long time. Are there any music school/program where I can continue to send my daughter to learn violin? She's been taking Suzuki violin lesson for two years and I won't want to give it up after moving to Ames. I prefer slightly formal settings such as schools or studios rather than teacher's private homes. Do you know if there is such opportunity in Ames? Thanks again.
