Hi guys,
I signed a lease from Oct08 - Sep09 and lost my job because my employers got arrested for some fraud charges and no one is there to run the company.
Now, I m not on job and due to my visa requirement I have to leave US with in few weeks.
I talked to my LL to give me options to terminate the lease but they gave me form saying I need to pay fee of 990 USD which I cannot pay as I m not getting any salary for the last 2 months. I know, the max they can do is to report it to credit bureau and if I will not be in US it will not effect me but I don't want to leave any bad history.
Is there any way for me to terminate the lease earlier without paying fee? is there any clause in the IOWA law that can help me.

Thanks
