I've decided on Davenport! Any Apartments for $600 or less with Utilities included or is that wishful thinking?

Be careful in Davenport proper for less than 600 ... that is getting a bit sketchy. Crime is somewhat spread out in Davenport so it wouldn't be hard to find yourself in a seedy area.

For apartments, especially that cheap, I'll recommend Bettendorf or a smaller town out.

What size apartment? Depending on how many bedrooms and such you need, $600 can be doable.

Ignore the Bettendorf comment; Davenport's crime rate problem is overhyped. Unless you hang out with drug dealers or these families that seem to enjoy shooting at each other, you'll rarely have a problem.

A couple of years ago I paid $550 to live in some 2 bedroom apartments called Swerwood Forrest that sit behind the fairgrounds(they always have move in specials, they paid my gas and lights for six months, my buddy lived there and got a free months rent)...and now we live in a 2 bedroom townhouse in Bett. we pay all utilities for $595. Haven't had a problem at either place.

$600 won't be a problem..expect to pay your own utilities other than water.

I think that was pretty rude, I wasn't trying to bash Davenport, just giving an honest opinion which is what this site is for.

OP - I meant Bettendorf for APARTMENTS. I wouldn't trust many apts in Davenport.

Oh, and car break-ins are probably more frequent in apartment parking lots than anywhere else ... that has nothing to do with hanging out with drug dealers or families that enjoy shooting at each other.

So... maybe she should ignore you.

I just don't believe that any of these issues begin or end at the imaginary line that is the Davenport/Bettendorf border. Alexis at Perry Pointe are crazy expensive, but probably nicer than any apartment in Bettendorf. We have plenty of low end apartments, but Chateau Knoll in Bettendorf isn't so hot either. There are good and bad apartments in either city, so why suggest that the OP avoid one city entirely?

Well I obviously feel different but I'm not going to argue.

... Alexis at Perry Pointe is a BEAUTIFUL place to live, but even that isn't far from seedy areas. And I didn't see she was looking at Alexis..

Bettendorf can be those janky ass apt's down by the Masonic Temple..it can be that trashy ass trailer park on Devils Glenn rd. and it can be where I live, behind Old Chicago..All 3 are a "Good luck keeping a hood ornament on your car" kinda neighborhoods.
