I am going to be moving to the Quad Cities area soon and was wondering if any of you know of nice apartments in the area to help me refine my search. Basically proximity to parks bars/nightlife are a couple things I am looking for. I've been looking into City View apartments but am open to more knowledgeable opinions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're probably on the right track with CityView, depending on how soon you're moving. There are some pretty nice high-end apartments coming closer in the core of downtown Davenport, but they're looking more like 2010-2011 for completion. CityView is a good building, and at times has had a waiting list, despite the rents being sort of high for this area. The interior finish is very high quality, and depending which side you're on, the views are great. Have you had a chance to visit the area in person to check out a few places?

I am traveling to the area to take tours in a couple weeks. I have also heard good things about Alexis, Indian Ridge and Park Place.

Alexis is nice, although possibly overpriced. Its not really a place where you could walk to much in the way of entertainment from though. That said, when someone asks me what the "luxury apartments" are in Davenport, that's the one I think of. Park Place looks nice, but I don't know anything about that development, because I actually thought they were condos. Its a few blocks from a new urbanist residential neighborhood that's being developed, but there's no commercial stuff in walking distance yet. Indian Ridge is the least upscale of those 3, but I'm sure its quite a bit cheaper as well.

If you like the industrial urban loft style, the Crescent Warehouse District is pretty cool, but they usually have a waiting list for market-rate apartments. Two thirds of that development is limited income, which is unfortunate, but that's the way the tax credits work these days. Its still worth a call if you're into that sort of thing. I lived there for 2+ years, and loved it.

Sadly, apartments in Bettendorf don't fit your criteria for nightlife as there really isn't any here (one reason I'd like to move when I can). Regency Apartments look nice but I can't really think of a apartments in Bettendorf that are really close to parks.

I used this link when I was looking for apartments in downtown davenport: Downtown Living in Davenport, IA (http://www.downtowndavenport.com/residential/dtown_living/index.html - broken link)

Some of those apartments put you closer to the action than City View or Crescent Lofts. However, I wouldn't hesitate to live in either as the apartments look nice and the walk to the bars wouldn't be too far.

If you don't mind living in Illinois you could look for apartments near downtown Moline and The District of Rock Island. Both are pretty nice and it'd be easy to get to the Iowa side with the I-74 and Centennial bridges.
