I'm planning to take up a temporary job at IBM Dubuque for Lotus/Domino Technical Support Specialist.Where will I get an idea about the pay scales (Rhythm,Blues and Jazz) for all Lotus/Domino required jobs ? Also does the pay differ for temporary and permanent jobs ? I've worked on Lotus for about 8 yrs

R, B, J is the pay/experience level wage. I have no idea if it differs for temp workers though.

Here is a list of the pay scales: ( roughly estimated )

R- $24,000 to $30,000
B- $33,000 to $45,000
J- $43,000 to $47,000 << although this could be higher

Hope this helps

There are good reasons IBM came to Dubuque. Low wage scale and a city that opened the vault to get them.

My husband just accepted a job @ IBM in Dubuque and the above payscales are terribly off. He is in the middle category and will be making considerably more. I couldn't tell you what department or position that he will be in because I don't understand any of the tech-terms that he uses. We are looking forward to the move and change!

Can anyone who works in the Service Delivery Center shed any light on the work environment? I'm curious about the day-to-day activities, work schedules, on call rotations that are required for people in the Rhythm, Blues and specifically the Jazz team.

Those pay scales are about as accurate as it gets. Your hubby might be getting some bucu OT and earning more or was one lucky one who is paid $40k a year. Majority of IBM staff in DBQ is making $29,000-$38,000, which encompasses the R-Blues bands. Jazz caps out at $47,000 though. So it is what it is. Not sure where the insgal gets her info cause I have worked there since June 2009. I was in the first wave and helped interview over 60 techs.

I believe the salaries vary greatly at IBM in Dubuque depending of the candidates experience and probably how much difficulty they may have filling positions.

Oh yes, good old supply versus demand. Like all corporations, IBM won't pay any more than it has to in today's climate.
