If you think housing is overprices, you must not get out much, if ever at all. CR housing is very reasonably priced.

I don't think CR is the greatest city on earth, but I disagree with everything in your post!

Here is the results of a Cedar Crapids realtor.com search when searching homes from 80-100k

2 whole listings buddy and they are TH/condos
BTW- several laid off Rockwell people work with in DBQ so you forgot to mention how much Rockwell sucks to work for.

Here is 149 listings in Indy, and look, these are huge single family homes not small crappy tonwhomes like CR.

Default Question for you about Cedar Rapids

If someone were to move to the great state of Iowa, what city would your recommend hands down: Iowa City, Des Moines or Cedar Rapids? I have been to all and am leaning towards Iowa City. Cedar Rapids I would think would have a better job market. The housing seems much more affordable too. Your thoughts?

Yeah, whatever! If you want to live in a 80-100M craphole, be my guest. Housing prices for homes that people actually want to live in are quite reasonable, as is the overall cost of living.

I don't know where you get the idea that Rockwell isn't doing well. Why don't you just stay whereever you are because we don't want you here.

I would choose IC over CR and DSM over both. IC has UI and DSM has state gov't so both tend to fare better during times of economic downturns. DSM is a larger metro area and has more to offer in terms of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Of the three, CR definitely has the more affordable housing options, but none are outrageous.

Yeah, I gotta agree. In Iowa, IC and DM trump CR. Maybe even the QCs. Never lived there, but seems more interesting the times I visited. CR is just so...steady.. Maybe if I was over 70?

CR still trumps QC in my book. I was in Davenport last week and was very surprised at all of the closed businesses on the northbound one-way (Brady St./Hwy 61) from Kimberly. When the economy is decent, QC does have more to offer than CR, but right now, it's looking a bit scary.

You are a nuts. Those homes in Indy are less than 5 years old in most cases and they are built by reputable builders , which from what I can tell dont even build in CR. Yet they cost much less than CR and oh yeah, pay scales in Indy are much higher too. CR residents end up having to work in Dubuque because CR has no jobs. lmao at you again
CR is an overpriced, underpaying city from hell. You have been zinged again.

From my understanding the most desirable cities in Iowa are Iowa City and Des Moines.
