we all know that muslims HATE pigs and other animals of that species. but has anyone ever wondered why that is. it seems very irrational, its just a animal after all (granted not the prettiest )
just wondering if anyone knew the roots of this islamic hatred and fear of piggys
They don't eat pork. In the bible its one of the dietary laws. Jews don't eat pork and some Christians don't eat pork.
THAT IS SO FUNNT i HAVE DONE THAT TO SOME OF MY MUSLIM FRIEND WHO LOVES MY BRUNSWICK STEW AND WHEN THEY FOUND OUT PORK WAS IN IT THEY KEPT EATING AND ASKED ALLAH TO FORGIVE THEM LOL.THEY STILL WANT MY STEW WHEN THEY COME OVER,I TELL THEM THEY ARE NOT REAL MUSLIM
It's really not funny... People who have religious reasons not to eat a certain food take it seriously. I don't eat pork, I am Jewish and I would be really hurt if friends of mine knowingly served me pork in a dish on purpose.
i dated a muslim woman once, raised in Eritrea and Saudi Arabia, and was very curious why she hated pigs so. It wasn't just that she wouldn't eat pork, she wouldn't go in an area if she heard there were pigs nearby (like a farm). She was shocked that some people had pot-bellied pigs as pets, and declared she wouldn't even be in the same room with someone who had such a pet.
I asked her why, and she replied that she learned in school that pigs are filthy, and when I asked for specifics, she said the only thing she knew was that "pigs have sex with their mothers, and if you eat pork, you'll want to have sex with your mother."
I know it sounds like I'm joking, but seriously, this was her primary rationale behind her hatred of pigs, and it was apparently a common conception in Eritrea.
Kosher Jews don't eat pork either. Pigs eat garbage. Kosher Jews don't eat any shellfish either. Shellfish isn't clean. They don't eat any lettuce except for iceberg and don't mix dairy with meat. Muslims have their own butchers....I think it's called Hallil and they only eat lamb, cow and chickens that are slaughtered a certain way. I'm not a Muslim or a Jew, but if you want to eat well, buy Kosher or Muslim food. Their standards are far superior to the FDA's and it's a healthier way to eat.
