Ok, so he may not really be a true Muslim, but in terms of religion, that's the closet one he has connection to. And even though we have separate of the church and state, at least it will encourage more people to understand the Muslim religion based on Obama. I have met more Muslims with better morals than so-called Christians. Christians believe one thing, but do another thing. Hypocrites.
Christians leaders have lie, cheat, and steal (Bush) and committed adultery and fornication (Clinton). Why should we trust another president with a background in Christianity? No wonder other countries laugh at us when we say, "We are a Christian nation" when so many of them are immoral themselves! Even in our backyard, we have lost faith in our religion, it's either you're a "goodie, goodie nice little Christian" or not.
A Muslim president would mean a time for change in the direction of morals in this country!

Yes, of course Obama has NO CONNECTION to the Christian church he has belonged to for 20+ years, got married in, and had his children baptized in. Yes- he's much more connected with his Muslim heritage from his father who left him as a toddler and spending time growing up in Indonesia where he did not attend a Mosque.

Why are you comparing him to George Bush & Dick Cheney?
The President is not a 'religious' leader, but the leader of the United States. The particular religion that he/she may or not subscribe to should not even come into it. Unfortunately it is held as important by the majority of the public, but wether he holds Christianity or Islam as his main faith, it should absolutely not interfere with public policy as per the constitution.
If you want people to better understand the Muslim faith, you should find a different channel than the Presidential office.
