I am pretty sure I didn't read Jesus and the Christian God recommending anything like this to his people:
Surah (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"
Uhm, what about Jesus saying that he did not come to bring peace, but the sword?
That any child who does not hate his parent cannot be a follower of Jesus?
Quote:
Matthew 10.34-35 & 37 34. Think not that I come to send peace on earth. I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Before you condemn others perhaps you should look into your own back yard...Christianity is peaceful? Not likely.
This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys. (1st Sam 15:2-3)
If you read up one line, that is Samuel talking to Saul.
(1st Sam 15:1)Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD.
Obviously Old Testament Jewish portion of the Bible. If I see any Amalekites around, I am taking them out. Besides, Jesus, who is the fulfillment of everything taught had nothing but messages of peace and tolerance.

The sword is about God's wrath, not instruction to his followers to cut heads and fingers off of the non-believers.
You equate a child who hating his parent, cannot be a follower of Jesus to cut off the non-believers head and fingers? You math skills are lacking.
I am suspecting that in the second part means that if you follow Him, you will have to go against all of the old Jewish teachings and therefore there will be many family battles to go through to faithfully follow Jesus.
I will have to research that some more, but I have to get to work.
Perhaps you should read what TrickyD posted, juj....I ain't buying your story that the bible does not promote violence.
I never said the Bible has no violence in it. But you must concede there were NO Christians when the Book of Samuel was written. I am pretty sure you can agree on that. I am talking about what Jesus taught and afterall, He is the heart and soul of Christianity, hence the name.
George Bush said god wanted him to attack Iraq.
The murder of countless Iraqis is based on GWBs christianity.
Clean that up before you look at others.
You might want to learn a little about the Turks and Istanbul if you want to look at religious tolerance. Christians might want to follow suit.
That only because if have been adament about not allowing Islamic law to take over. They actually have a democracy. They don't allow head scarfs in public buildings such as colleges. The Turks have not yet gone to the dark side. Any country who has gone to Islamic law, is intolerant to other religions.
juj,
your personal assaults are tedious, let this thread be about Islam.
A little tolerance wouldn't hurt you.
