Many people have observed the actions of a handful of Muslims and immediately recorded it as an action condoned by Islam.....

Christianism is by far the most harmful religion in History. The world only started to evolve once people started to support the idea that religion had to be separated from "civil life". Those ideas brought Enlightment and the liberal (the classical term, not meaning left policies) democracies.

The muslims do not help their cause by celebrating the deaths of hundreds after a suicide bombing. They also do not help the image of Islam when coercing two down syndromed women into becoming suicide bombers.
Luckily, Christianity left its violent backward ways in the dark ages.....when will Islam do the same?

Wait are you truly saying that those American soldiers who work in the Guantanamo bay detention camp are not Christian?
Or are you trying to explain that torture (like waterboarding) is not an act of violence?
Or that waterboarding ain't backwards?

Soldiers in Gitmo don't quote Bible verses to justify what they are doing. Suicide bombers and their ilk do quote verses from the koran.

Only because they don't care how other people perceive them.
Generally the standard answer from any soldier to every question is that they were simply following orders for the sake of their nation.
