That said, sexism isn't just a result of religion. Sexism also arises from culture. There are cultures that are sexist and cultures that aren't. Some are Muslim-based, some are Christian-based. But I have seen sects of both Christianity and Islam that teach women to be in submission to men. I've also seen sects of both Islam and Christianity that teach absolute gender equality. I will be fair and admit that the submission of women is enforced much more as a whole in the Islam world, but a lot of that is the result of politics and government as well, not just Islam itself. But in the end, almost anything can be done with the Bible or the Qur'an. A verse can be found anywhere to support almost any way of life. For every verse that teaches female submission, there is a verse that teaches gender equality, or something more vague like the equality of humans in general, which can often be extended to gender equality.
Women are treated like dirt-they MUST walk behind the husband...ever noticed this when you see a muslim couple. They must be covered as they are "sinful" They do not even pray in the same place as a man...so what are the misconceptions?

The fact that you think all Muslim women live the exact same lifestyle is a misconception in and of itself.
I capitalize 'The Bible' out of respect for common usage, not because I consider it to be "God's Word". Why must each religion attempt to impose their quirks on everyone else?
