No, the vast majority of advancements in math, astrology, and other sciences predate Islam in the ME, or originate in other places.

So? The Islamic world has accomplished next to nothing scientifically since the 14th Century. Today, in any given year, the people of Subsaharan Africa--the world's educational basketcase--apply for more patents than the entire Islamic world. That speaks volumes to the backwards-looking nature of Islam, always wrapped up in its nostalgia for the glory days of the Abassids, rather than applying the faith to the modern day.

...and that is why you will see so many attempts by some to show islam as a progressive and scientific force. They know that the middle east in general has a primitive mindset in terms of social structures, moral values, justice, wealth distribution, democracy, science, industry, etc etc. The middle east plays an important role in indirectly dragging the rest of the world down. I say middle east because many muslims east of pakistan (exception being turkey) tend to often be of a relatively more liberal mindset. If the middle east did not have oil or the foreign labor they exploit, they woulld be at the level of a sub-saharan country.

What was in the Cave with Muhammad? Muhammad himself was convinced that the "revelations" he received in this Hira Cave were evil, and from a demon (Jinn). Muhammad's constant fits, foaming at the mouth and other manifestations certainly fit in with that idea. This is how demon possessed people are known to behave today, as they did in both the times of Jesus and Muhammad. The Hebrew prophets, and Jesus Christ never behaved like this. But all over the world where demons are listened to, you will find this kind of behavior.

Let us reason. If a man had the character of Allah, as described in the Qur'an, no one in their right mind would want to do business with him! For Allah is apparently a god who misleads, perverts people, changes his mind and encourages polygamy, concubinage, wife-beating, slavery and "holy" war on the enemies of Islam. The more serious people are about following Allah and the Qur'an, the more social wreckage they will create both in the home and in the international arena.

In many places, the Qur'an alludes to the fact that the earth is flat and its mountains are like poles which create a balance so that the Earth does not tilt. See Qur'an, Suras 79:30 (And the Earth after that He(Allah) FLATTENED it; and 18:47 (and you will see the earth a leveled plain)

You do realize of course, that Western science owes its very existence to Arabic sciences? The current numerical system is Arabic in origin. It doesn't matter if you believe in the nonsense of religion or not. Arabic and Persian sciences basically saved the West from the Dark Ages.

Galileo, Copernicus, Brahe and Kepler all owed their education to the Arabic texts. These teachings were the basis of the Renaissance.

but this doesn't mean we owe our existance to anybody.. many things have been invented by ancient civilazations.but because of their superstitcious and very religious ways of life they only took them so far!!!! just look at china they were the first to invent gun powder but what did they do with it, make fireworks and primitive weapons..if china had been as inventive as the west, "then" they would have been the worlds super power hundreds of years ago..
