I just moved to Jackson, MS from Chicago, IL and need to get to work near Meadowbrook Office Park in Jackson. Looking for safe, affordable apartment that will allow me to walk to work. Too late to move back to Chicago. Also need help finding my way around, names of good doctors, dentists in or near area. ALL information appreciated.

There are some little patio homes on Winwood Drive just behind there. I don't know if any of them are available for rent. The Vieux Carré apartments on the frontage road near St. Dominic hospital may still be open. The Barrington condos are just opposite on the other side of the interstate, but I doubt if they are affordable. The complexes on Northside and the interstate are not particularly safe.

Thank you, lpartridge. I will see what I can find out about the locations you mentioned. I can walk to work from my present location, takes about 45 minutes which is okay I guess. But I will need to cross I-55 N to get to my location. Do you know if there is a "Walk" light or how ones goes about crossing the Interstate on foot? Thank you.
