lol
But the taxpayers may be on the hook for it. It's not on the scale of the north Mississippi beef plant or even Farish Street. But if you'll reread my statement, I said that two office buildings and a subdivision have been built does not make it a total boondoggle.

Target lays off 1,700, won't fill another 1,400 vacancies

Don't think that Target is getting any closer to breaking ground with this one.

Target is on the verge of filing for chapter 11. They are spread way too thin.

Oh wow, I had no idea. Sounds like a Target in Madison is possibly just a pipe dream now.

No they are not. They employ over 350,000 employees. Moderator cut: personal - off topic

I haven't seen anything suggesting that Target is filing for bankruptcy, but they trying to save $2 billion over the next couple of years. They're also trying to ramp up their online sales. I get the sense that they won't be opening many stores in the very near future.

Right. Yeah I'd hope they wouldn't fold, that would mean both Jackson & Flowood would lose their stores.

I much prefer Target over Walmart. Not nearly as crowded and slightly more upscale.
