I believe it's where the Family Dollar across from the zoo is now.
Oh and don't forget Food Depot as well! I think they have two locations in Jackson, one on West Northside Drive at Medgar Evers, and another at McDowell & Terry.

Albertson's had presences in Alabama, Florida and Tennessee before withdrawing from markets through store closures or divestments to Publix. It currently has four stores in Florida, but one is in the process of closing in May. ("Albertson's #4301, Gulf to Bay Boulevard, Clearwater, Florida.")

Albertson's completed its acquisition of Safeway earlier this year.

Albertson's was on Beasley and Ridgewood, then became Brookshire's.

There was also one at Lake Harbour Drive & Old Canton in Ridgeland, that is now Kroger, and there's one that is IDENTICAL to the one in Ridgeland in Brandon on Lakeland Drive, and it is a Kroger now as well.

I remember when Kroger had a store on Robinson Rd. and Lindsey St., Raymond and McDowell roads and on Hanging Moss and Nakoma Drive (the current Save A Lot). Any other former Kroger stores, besides the one in Clinton and on County Line?

Obviously the Kroger that just closed on Terry Road lol. I've heard it was gonna be something called a New Deal Supermarket, apparently they used to be very popular here in the metro area in the 1990s, but since I've heard that, I don't think that's on the table anymore. Though something is being promised to locate there & soon. I'd LOVE for it to be a McDade's Market, but I don't their biting. At this point Food Depot, Save-A-Lot, or a Vowell's would be fine I guess, I just don't want it to be old, dilapidated, & falling in in 10-20 years.

What is the outlook of food retailers in Jackson for the foreseeable future?

Kroger, including its Kroger Marketplace stores, and Walmart, including its Walmart Neighborhood Market stores, should continue to dominate and lead in market share.

Could Publix consider entering the Jackson market through western expansion into Mississippi, Memphis and western Tennessee?

I've thought of Publix. I've also thought about Aldi. They have a store in Southaven.
