Publix has acknowledged the Memphis, Tennessee market in October 2012. It had no plans to enter the market yet. If it expands into western Tennessee, I would not be surprised to see it enter Mississippi.

Publix coming to Mississippi would be nice! They could move into the old Kroger on County Line, or build a new building on the Sam's Club site once it closes up, unless Cotsco finally bites on that property.

Most new Publix stores would be built from the ground up as new construction.

I'm saying they'd need to demolished the Sam's building and build a new one. Also, because that building is the whole reason Sam's is closing that store later this year, because of structural problems.
