Perhaps a certain expat on the "Left Coast" can regale us with tales of these places...

I'm too young to have ever gone to any of these places to eat, but they are pretty interesting! There are a couple of really nice postcards flying around of the Green Derby & the Drake Motel, considering that the Drake's pool fronted the Derby. MissPress goes on to say about LeFleur's that it was a REAL nice place back in the day, & attracted some pretty big name people. Dennery's, I don't know that much about, but the out of the three restaurants here, Dennery's building still stands on Greymont Avenue, right across from the Coliseum. I believe that one closed more recently!

From my understanding, LeFleur's closed with the hotel next to it in 1984, & the Green Derby closed sometime in the 1990s, because according to some folks, the Derby was still open in 1992.

Back in the early 80s, when we could still get Jackson's TV stations here, I remember seeing and hearing a commercial for LeFleur's on a morning talk school (Jackson's most unusual restaurant...LeFleur's).
Apparently, our most unusual poster was not a regular there...

Dennery's closed within the last few years. I think I ate there probably 5 years or so ago.
