It's happened again. Another school bus has been caught by another sinkhole, on the streets of Jackson.

Almost two years ago, exactly, the same thing: JPS bus gets stuck in sinkhole - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS

Personally though, I find the impromptu rivulets, rapids, and torrents, erupting all over Jackson, to be quite charming. They give the city a sense of event. And they look so refreshing!

It's amazing to me how even on a weekday in the middle of the day you can drive through some parts of Jackson and see folks just sitting on their porch waiting on the sun to go down again, just like they did every day that had come upon them before that. Yet there's trash everywhere, potholes, busted water lines, dilapidated homes, elderly and disabled folks that could use a helping hand, not to mention sinkholes that are large enough for a school bus to get stuck in.

I've done some volunteer work in Jackson as of late and it's just disheartening for me to see the true number of people that literally do nothing each day.. yet there's so much that needs to be done.. most of the time even in and around their own homes. I know if my community was in shambles (such as after a tornado or hurricane for instance) and I had (what seems like) infinite free time I would just put on some gloves and start trying to organize some groups to get things cleaned up.

Meh. Sometimes it's tough to try and help people that don't necessarily seem to want help.
