Sheltered upbringing likely, but I'm not into the whole diversity thing. Call me whatever names you want, but where can I rent in the Jackson area and maintain a homogeneous population around me?

I think you will find there is a Federal law against that.

I don't know anything about Jackson, but thank you for having the b*lls to ask your question (no matter what color you are). Diversity is not for everyone.

It's actually refreshing to hear someone state a differing viewpoint on the subject; especially when you know that those differing perspectives still exist.

Um I don't think that is going to go well down here. This is the bible belt buddy.

It depends on what you mean by "diverse." Outside of the Jackson city limits, black populations of 10-30% are the norm. The Eastover and Belhaven neighborhoods in the Jackson city limits were around 85-90% white in the 2000 census.

I totally understand your question and thank you for asking.

If you are homogenous to the white community, then Clinton or anywhere in Rankin County would suit you, especially Pearl.

If you are homogenous to the black community, then anywhere except those places mentioned above would be what you are looking for. Jackson is predominately black, and large populations of blacks are moving into Ridgeland and Madison. Those two towns are very diverse.

I hope you find what you are looking for, and if you have been sheltered as you said, then get ready for the shock of your life when you move to good ol' Mississippi.
