How Long do you think it will be before Canton grows into the rest of the continuous metro. I know it sounds ridiculous at first but hear this out. Once (it most likely will) Gluckstadt gains the title of city, it will technically already happen, but what about from an urban point of view?

Currently, the Jackson "Urban Corridor" for the northern metro is from Madison down. With the addition of Amazon and the Madison Megasite, along with Gluckstadt picking up steam in the construction market (new grocery store, small stores like at&t and gas stations, and the Fastenal warehouse last year). Also, madison county really wants to build an exit between madison and Gluckstadt( of which the turn and layout is already there) so how long before the corridor expands north?

It already is connected really. The Lake Caroline development runs all the way to Highway 22, and many nice subdivisions are already built or being built along Highway 22 all the way down between Lake Caroline and Flora.

Some day, you have to think that the square in downtown Canton, which has gorgeous architecture, will begin to develop with upscale apartment buildings and restaurants, a la Fondren, Ocean Springs, and Oxford.

They need a magnet school if they want to begin attracting new families, but in the mean time the areas zoned into Canton school district such as Lake Caroline have attracted people wanting to live on the lake or on large acreage, or who use private schools anyway. And the adjacent areas which are zoned into Madison County school district which goes all the way to Flora, are booming. I think this area along Hwy 22 between Canton and Flora is somewhat of a well-kept secret within Mississippi that has a big future.
