Thomas K. Hudson, the current president of JSU, did an interview with the Mississippi Free Press yesterday. For those who don't know, it is Donna Ladd's - Jackson Free Press founder - newish publication.

Regarding the stadium: He says he is "excited" about the "possibility" of a new stadium on campus. He also says development projects of this caliber can be a "longshot" however he's hopeful that the feasibility study - which he says has only been partially released - along with their economic impact study and other documentation will allow them to make a strong case for an on-campus stadium. Based on how he worded his statements and what we know from WLBT's reporting, I did hone in on his repeated use of "on-campus" and the economic impact a stadium could have for the campus and West Jackson. He said the figure for the said stadium is between 100-120 million - which we knew from the previous reporting - and that they hope to have other functions there. They also hope the stadium can better connect the campus to downtown Jackson from an economic standpoint. Also, apparently, JSU built a new coffee shop near or around campus. That was a point of discussion for a good minute.

He also discussed the Lynch Street Corridor. This actually preceded the stadium discussion. Apparently, JSU reps are hoping to build a museum corridor that includes the Margaret Walker Center, Masonic Temple, and "Natchez Cemetery." This is what Hudson says, but I believe he means Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Lastly, this wasn't in the linked discussion, but I remember one phase of the Lynch Street Improvement Plan was completed last year, and according to the linked article below, it is supposed to stretch to JSU.
