The Capitol Police are gonna have to take a page from the Rankin County playbook and equip officers with jacked up 4x4s.

A police pursuit of a stolen vehicle resulted in a police car being disabled in Jackson Sunday evening.

According to the press secretary of the Department of Public Safety Bailey Martin, Capitol Police were chasing a stolen vehicle when both cars struck a pothole at the intersection of Superior and Wood Street, disabling the police vehicle.

The subject driving the stolen car was able to escape despite being struck by the police car. Martin says the subject has been identified.

There were no injuries reported.

Here are ten off road police vehicles that should meet the demands of Jackson's police force. # 7, the Toyota FJ Cruiser, is used in Dubai so it should be able to tackle most pot holes. I think there's a modified Jeep there. Imagine how much fun it would be to drive one of those!

The FJ cruiser (#7) has been discontinued.

Instead, the Lancruiser Prado (#6) is a rebranded Lexus GX460 (or rather, the Lexus is a rebranded LC Prado), which is a Toyota 4Runner with fancier skin and accessories. Body-on-frame strength with serious offroad capability if you have the right setup.

But in the USA, it's going to be the Ford Explorer (#4) for mid-size or Chevy Tahoe (#3) for full-size.
