Technically, I'm a tourist because I'm not from here... but I plan on relocating here within 2 years. I'm lookin' to go out and experience a little of the local nightlife without all the tourist schtick.

What type of music do you like, and the crowd (or not) that you prefer to be around? There's many decent bars in St. Augustine, but hard to define one without knowing your preferences.

Typically I'm more of a rock chick than a country chick. I prefer a friendly crowd, people that aren't afraid of random conversations. Basically, it'd just be myself going out to a bar, and I'd like to not end up spending the whole night in a corner with a beer by myself.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I'm lookin' at going out tomorrow night for a cold one, since I've gotta leave Friday night or Saturday morning for my 12 hour drive back home. I like karaoke too, so I wouldn't mind finding a place I can sing (and usually singing crowds are talking crowds).

Over the years I have come to really like the bar that's out on the dock at the Conch House Hotel and Restaurant, mainly because of the lack of tourists that haunt the place.

And Conch House has live reggae every Sunday afternoon for a $5 cover. It's a good time, but does get crowded.
