Hello! My future brother in law will be moving here as soon as he can find a job.

He is in Phoenix at the moment and works in an international hotel chain as a kitchen manager. He is bilingual and can speak Spanish as well as English.

Does anyone know of any new hotels that might be opening in Jacksonville soon or where he can apply in a similar line of work?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Yonae - Spanish isn't as useful here as it is in south Florida (although it is always at least a little useful in kitchens everywhere).

We have no new major hotels/resorts opening - and a lot of major ones have gone into foreclosure/bankruptcy/missed mortgage payments lately (Marriott at Sawgrass - Sea Island up in south Georgia - Amelia Island Plantation - Adams Mark in downtown JAX - etc. - etc.)

Doesn't mean a particular property doesn't need someone to work in the kitchen. What chain does your brother work for now? That would be the place where I'd start if the chain has a property here. If it doesn't have a place here - I can give you a list of resort type properties in the area (although I won't have a clue which if any are hiring). Robyn
