2) Does anyone know if it's difficult for qualified, legal immigrants to find accounting/auditing/bookkeeping work in Jax?
3) Obviously, our son's education is important. However, my main concern is his safety. Taking into account what I'd written in point #1, what affordable areas could we feel safe sending him to school in?

We are looking a many cities (and I'll post this on other cities' forums) but Jacksonville is one possibility. I thank you for you insight.

In todays housing market you will have multiple properties to choose from in your price range (houses and condos). Mardarin, Gate Parkway, Baymeadows & 9A areas are all safe (or should I say safer than other Jax areas).
Intercoastal Waterway is nice as well.

Job finding will depend greatly on the level of your wife's English speaking ability. She can reasonably expect to find some sort of accounting payable/receivable jobs to begin with and later, as she acquires american work experience, she may decide to go for CPA.

There are some Russians living in Jacksonville and even more Bosnians. There are several stores that sell European groceries and I hear that a cafe is going to open in the near future.

Good luck with your move whereever you may end up

If moving to jax, I would definitly live in the St. Johns county for the school district. I lived there for 16 years and just relocated to Colorado for family. Good luck on your decision.

Plan on renting when you first move here. This is a big area geographically - there is a lot to explore. Also - the real estate market is pretty bad (and probably won't get better overnight). So there's no hurry in terms of buying. Robyn
