We are relocating from SC to Jacksonville (job transfer) and know nothing about the area. We have a 7 and 8 yr old so schools are a concern. We would like to live on the south side and have heard Orange park, Ponte Vedra or St. Johns. We are looking for being close to restaurants and shopping (but not in the city) good school, a mall semi-close would be nice. Any suggestions?

St. Johns County off of 210 (Nocatee) or World Golf Village Area. Good luck. Or Palencia off of US 1 near 210.

it all depends on:
A-your budget you can spend anywhere from 100k to a cool Million+
B-how far ya wanna drive to work, think rush hour
C-want to buy /rent, single family, condo, apartment, live in e trailer,
D-live in the city, country, burbs
its all axailable in or near jax ...BTW Ponte Vedre/St Johns/Orange Park, are all in different counties
with different tax structures and pluses and minuses

Thanks, this info helps alot. To answer the questions above, My husband and I both work from home so traffic not a big issue. Want to buy, budget $500K, would like a house over 3500 sq ft, neighborhood with lots of kids, would like to be close to restaurants and shopping! Thanks again!

Deerwood, and Deercreek are nice neighborhoods on the Southside. They are both gated communities with access to good schools.

Ponte VEDRA and St. Johns are in the same county. And Nocatee is not to be confused with PVB. 500K may not get you that large of a house in Ponte Vedra. Better off in one of the newer communities if you want St. Johns county.
