Only thing is......it can be extremely difficult to impossible to get an interview when living in one state and applying in another! My wife tried it while living in So Calif and getting ready to move to Denver, CO area......didn't get a single call! She done the same thing when we moved from CO to NC/Charlotte area with the same.......nothing! So, when we moved down here to Jax, no employment search was done......we simply moved. For jobs like CEO and CFO, companies advertise, interview and hire from out-of-State. A person just has to be ready to pay for transportation, motel, etc for an interview AND sometimes for the move. Other than those high-ranking type jobs, companies generally will not call someone who lives out of the state. Only thing is, wife and I have no children, which in itself made it easier to relocate.
A lot of people have said for years, "don't move without a job" and that statement seems to be more popular today due to the economy, but the real fact is "people have to do what they have to do"!

If you feel highly qualified and you want to move in search of a job, why the hell not. It's always been the American way. As long as you leave your options open,
maybe rent for a while and have some money set aside for the haul.

I posted a reply in the other thread you have, but I really wouldn't recommend moving to Jacksonville.

Darnell-Cookman & James Weldon Johnson are the 2 best magnet middle schools, with Kirby Smith and LaVilla not too far behind.

IT is a broad term encompassing both jobs that are in very high demand (devlopers, engineers, etc...) as well as ones that aren't (network admins, tech writers, etc...)

It really depends which one of those categories you fall into... Also DoD experience helps...
