From someone who lives near downtown, the "Eastside" neighborhood is now considered anything East of Ionia Street to the St. Johns River.

The "Westside" needs a better street border definition too. There's a huge land area over there, where do you begin? Interstate 10 on the North to Orange Park to the South? The river to where, SR 23? Quite often I read on here that the Westside is terrible. There is some bad areas "West" of the river, but all too often the whole area - considered - the Westside is made out to be undesirable here by many posters. Why not define your bad areas, to the parts that are bad? It's not just the Westside that gets mentioned this way, the Southside and Northside just as well. Simply put, Jacksonville has good, and bad areas all over no matter where you go or live.

Exactly. There are portions of ghetto all over Jacksonville, from Northside to Southside. Inner Westside is definitely rough, particularly 103rd from Tampico to California Ave, Cassat Ave, etc. When people say Northside is rough, I have to let them know that inner Northside is the rough part, particularly the numbered streets on the west side of 95 from W.8th-71st and on the eastern side of 95, 15th-71st. 32208 & 32209 make up inner North Jacksonville, and although they have nice, pretty neighborhoods and homes, overall they are surrounded by swaths of ghetto.
