I am relocating from Frisco Texas to Jacksonville Florida. My husband will be working on Butler Avenue. I have two girls 12 and 9 who love the arts. Visual Arts and Ballet. I hear that there are a few Middle Schools of Art in the area and you have to audition to get in, but I can't base my decision on where to live depending on "if" they get in those schools or not...so.........I need some help. We want to have a convenient life style with caring schools. I have no idea where to live. We would like to live in an area that is friendly, safe and diverse (not all of any one race or economic group). We have heard about Nocatee, but wonder if it is all it's cracked up to be. Please take no offense, it just looks so perfect so I am wondering if it is too good to be true. We also would like to live in an area that will hold it's value. Help me figure out where to raise my girls .....Please. I have been on the computer nonstop and am starting to repeat searches and all the information is scrambled now

Safe, friendly and diverse... I think suburbia would suit you well. Jacksonville is full of them. They satisfy 2 of the 3 things you mentioned, safe and friendly, there are pockets of diverse suburbs but as a whole suburbia here is very heterogeneous. Depending on price range there are places off of Hodges and Baymeadows north of Southside that you could do some more research on. To satisfy that third imperative, the diverse crowd one can try Riverside, San Marco or Avondale.
