"Memphis in May" is an absolute blast! This year it is being held on the same weekend as The Double Decker Arts Festival in Oxford (Ole Miss) Mississippi Double Decker arts festival ~ Oxford, MS (Memphis is just a little over an hour north of Oxford.)

I've been to both and they are both just so full of absolute win. But if I had to choose one to go to this weekend, I would go to the Double Decker Arts Festival! Oxford is just an all around great town!

I believe his is what is being referenced: WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM DOWNTOWN | Metro Jacksonville Forum

It was pretty amusing how the newspaper was warning everybody about the potential of a lot of traffic. Which would probably be normal, everyday traffic for any other large city. So instead of encouraging peopl to com on down, because it will be packed an a lot of fun....they were implying that you'd better stay away because of traffic (ha).

I think the Memphis article is a warning to those that don't want to be in that big of a crowd. But, you are right, it didn't have the slant from the police department that the one in the Times Union article had.

Jax has a history of driving people out of downtown, be it after Jags games or church services or whatever. We can't have all these people hanging around downtown, taking up valuable parking, possibly eating at one of the few restaurants.
