Can you be more specific concerning what you're looking for? I know Solomon's at Atlantic and Art Museum is a salvage store that sells household goods (new items surplused from other retail/wholesale businesses). They've been around for decades in Jax. Is that the type of salvage store you're asking about?

Salvage as in items that have been salvaged, saved from the dumps. I know there are companies that when they tare down houses that save the old cabinets and maybe pillars or appliances or vanities. That's what I'm looking for

Corner of Beach and University there is a Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. Good prices, and all salvaged items.

There used to be a place like that in St. Augustine - but I think it's gone. There was a place in Avondale (main drag) that sold old rusty/funky garden furniture - don't know if it's still there. Your best bet for a place like that is Atlanta (they have quite a few of them). Robyn

P.S. Be careful of anything made out of wood. A lot of it is full of termites.

Thought of another one. I had to get door hardware for my sister's 100 year old house last year and ended up finding a place called Burkhalters over off New Kings (I think),

Shep's Discount Store on Normandy is another salvage store that I know of. They not only have closeout merchandise but also used items in varying conditions.
