Officially til 9pm on weekdays, but I wouldn't trust it. People have been stranded...
Maybe the best place to park is at the Prime Osbourne Convention Center and ride the Sky Way over to the San Marco Station and go look at the fountain. The Sky Way only operates until 9pm at night during the week and not on weekends except for special events(according to JTA's website)

Doesn't anyone downtown in charge want people to come downtown on the weekends? No wonder its in the shape its in!

That's hard to believe but the JTA site does say that!

OK to satisfy myself I drove down to the fountain this AM, it was fantastic just like it was when it was new. (yes I'm that old) And the parking was easy to find. To the East side of the MOSH building between it and the off ramp from the Main Street Bridge is a drive that leads to a rather good sized(maybe 40 cars capacity) parking lot that goes all the way back to the Friendship Fountain and the Jacksonville Historical Center. The entrance to the parking lot is right next to where the the off ramp and Riverplace Blvd intersect. Hope this helps.

*plus I had an early morning appointment at Baptist's Cardiac clinic, so I was right there anyway.

Looks about the same as when it was new, I'm guessing 120' or so. As high as a 10 story building I've heard.

So that lot is open to the public? Makes sense, thanks! The lot I was talking about is on the west side, and there are just a few spaces reserved for the museum.

The area of the lot closest to the street entrance is marked for the MOSH and for handicapped parking but back towards the rear its not marked for anything. As far as I could tell.

Here's some pictures I took last week when I went down to check out the fountains parking situation. For the first and last picture I am standing almost directly in front of where my truck is parked in the available lot.
