We are looking to build with Ryland Homes in Greenleaf in Nocatee. Anyone have any experience good or bad?

I have heard mixed reviews, both in dealing with Ryland's representatives and in the quality of the homes themselves. I don't trust most homebuilders, having seen how they put homes together (I'm not some "old guy" talking about how things were built in the 1940s - I'm 32 - but I have extensive training in construction techniques).

I don't know if Ryland is better or worse than the rest. I do know there was talk of a class action suit against them. Maybe someone in the neighborhood can chime in?

All things being equal, if I had to choose between a national builder and a local builder I would lean towards the local builder. I just feel that local builders may have more accountability than national builders of which Ryland is one.

We're still excited about the house. I've talked to several people and read all the articles. It seems like Ryland will still honor everything they started. We shall see as the months pass.

Going to the design center in a couple weeks!
