Enjoy.
Already bought my wife and daughter their tickets. They went 2 years ago(it's bi-annual I think) and loved it.

Wish I was there, this sounds like fun. Thanks for the photos. The historic homes in Springfield sure are nice. What other holiday events take place in Jacksonville at this time of year?

Home Tours usually work like this.....you start off at the base, get your map and refreshments, then drive/walk off to the homes on the tour. Each house has a number of volunteers/hosts in the house there to semi-guide you through and answer questions. You go at your own pace. At the end, sometimes there's more refreshments or mini-festival or something. The point is to tour the most unique/historic/picturesque/quarky/different/posh homes in the city......pretty much the point of all the HGTV shows. Plus, people interested in buying in these areas usually go to check them out, get a feel for them.

San Marco's is a driving tour.

Springfield historic district's a walking tour (all the homes/venues are with-in a few blocks of one another).

Riverside & Avondale historic district's isn't really a Home Tour (their Home Tour is in the Spring), but the Luminaria is a driving tour of the neighborhood, more or less. You don't enter any homes.

St. Augustine's is a driving tour, I believe.

I don't know the details of the others, but I know the Springfield tour provides hot apple cider, homemade cookies, and other refreshments. And on Saturday there's a Art & Crafts Bazaar within one of the venues (a local business).

I personally don't care for the St. Augustine tour, as they're all bed & breakfasts and it's more commercial.

The rest are great, all on different days.

You can't beat a walking tour though, eh? : )

When my wife and daughter went on the San Marco Holiday Home Tour 2 years ago she say's they walked to all the homes on the tour. And refreshment were provided at a small park that was on the route between a couple of the homes.(coffee and cookies) It would be a little impractical for 20-30 people driving 10-15 cars to drive around in San Marco and find parking around each home.

Most Home Tours require driving, actually.

Including this year's in San Marco. Unless you'd like to walk this route, and back again:

This is what a walking Home Tour map looks like, all with in 2 blocks of eachother, more or less:

Pick your poison.

Just saying 2 years ago it was all walking. As they were there doing it, were you?
But I'm sure if you were actually going, you would bicycle it.
