Are Christmas lights popular in Jacksonville (and St. Augustine)? Do you see lots of houses with a token string or two, or lots of lights, or mostly none at all?

How about spectacular displays? Are there any neighborhoods that are worth driving to see?

What are the dates of your visit? Most people I know take their displays down by Juanuary 8th.

Only if the lights your interested in seeing are the strobelights on the cop cars and the flashes of random gunfire.

IMO, driving around Old Kings Rd on the northside of Jacksonville at night is a bad idea.

Oh, we're not coming until late January this year. Next year we might come in December, though. I just thought it would be interesting to know what NE Florida was like when it came to holiday decorations.

We did the trolley that takes you around to see the lights in St Augustine last week and we really enjoyed it! They play Xmas music and everyone was in good spirits, singing along, waving to everyone...

The lights weren't the most spectacular I've ever seen, but the nice ride made up for it. We'll definitely do it again!

Thanks guys. I've been having a fun time looking for these places on my map. Cricketfan, this is just the beginning of the little details I'll ask about.... I love to know all sorts of little things about a city before I visit or move there. I just love learning about other cities. By the time my trip gets here, I want to feel I known Jacksonville and St. Augustine like the back of my hand.
